Generated 10 minutes of white noise, applied some eq and what i may call stereo expansion, and got this thing that should be good enough to be used as an ambient sound for cold weather or polar wind. I captured this sound on my canon powershot a460 digital camera. It was a horrible night, with strong winds and heavy rain. I went to my garden shed and positioned my camera at the small window inside my shed as there is a small hole in the right hand corner of the window, and through this small hole the wind blows through it making this whistle sound, almost like a flute. Recorded 5/20/11 at 10:43am on a bright sunny day in washington. Many crows were flying overhead and i recorded them on my ipod. The sounds in the background is not wind (although it sounds like it), but are cars slowly driving by about 100 yards away. The crows were directly above.

Hail comes inthis was a strange storm. Tons of lightning, but only distant thunder. The rain was nearly falling vertically. Audio description: may 20, 2014. Hail comes in and pounds a deck outside for about a minute or so, then fades and raindrops themselves take prominence. The wind picks up, so you can hear wind chimes going at it and some deep rolling thunder far in the background. If you’ve experienced high winds before, it will probably sound scary to you at volume. Recorded with a tascam dr-05 with a dead cat and no low cut. I got the mics as close to an open window as i could without being ridiculous. Cropped and faded in and out in audacity. No other modifications, so you’ll have to normalize it and equalize to your liking. Might be useful as a “heavy rain” sound, since the hail kind of sounds like that anyway.

Captured on my zoom h4n. I open the door and the wind noise get louder. Around :50 it really starts to gust. There is a dog bark in the distance around 1:12. There is a little mic rumble throughout. I had it covered with a windshield and was standing just inside the door frame to try to prevent additional rumble. No need to credit. Use it as you would like.

I decided to bring my wind chimes inside and recorded them with an mxl 910 microphone into my computer using a focusrite scarlett 18i20 interface with the gain turned up a bit. I then chopped 15 samples i liked from the entire recording and formatted them into a make noise morphagene reel containing 15 splices. I am very pleased with the results, especially when patched into clouds or using an eventide space pedal for example. Enjoy!.

I'm back with another binaural. I am attempting to capture the sounds that remind me of the places i have visited. This is a recording of fuertaventura, in the canary islands, inland in the desert, morning with the wind blowing the sand, desert mountains all around just like the wild west. I upgraded my binaural mics to roland cs-10em from my homemade ones. I'm happy if you can notice the difference. I like that they are combined mics and earphones with little windbooms. At a baby shower and there are these awesome paper pom poms that sounded so amazing when you dragged them over your hand, like wind rustling stiff grass or dry leaves. Your stereotypical wind chime sound effect. Used a lot for transitions into dream sequences and flashbacks in movies and films. I took a very fast recording of someone hitting some orchestral chimes, slowed it down by over 200% and added some harmonic excitement and equalization in post production. Tools used:- usb logitech microphone (no lies, seriously used this $10 mic)- fl studio 12 by image line- vitamin by waves- dynamic eq by izotop. It's not rain but sounds like rain - fog and damp settling in the trees as a breeze blows. Recorded in the fields above my home in the fog and damp - so sounds amplified and 'hollow'. Walking round the grounds of kirby hall and there was one particularly vocal peacock. Only had android phone with me. Have removed wind interference with eq. There are no other fx on the edit. What sounds like a bit of reverb is from the natural ambience.

A recording made february 24th, 2019 in a residential section of a small midwestern town. . . The stiff north winds are rattling the remaining dry leaves. . . You will also hear the subtle singing of the birds that always greet you in late winter. . . Birds like house sparrows and starlings. From time to time, you'll hear the tinkly, nice sound of some wind-chimes hanging on the front porch of some house. The skittering of dried and old leaves scooting across the ground also makes an appearance. Enjoy this cold late-winter soundscape!. Weird sound the air vent in my bathroom was making with the ac on. Recorded with samsung a32 phone and voice recorder app. Tried different positions around the vent to get with and without the airflow on the mic. Sounds like some sort of old electronics humming? maybe a didgeridoo far away?.
